Music Visualizer

Use this online music visualizer turns any song into living art.

Why Use a Music Visualizer?

It actually locks to the music

Most visualizers just react to volume. This one detects the tempo and the timestamp of every beat and note attack, so the animation breathes with the pulse of the song and particles burst on the drum hits — not a moment later.

The mood shapes the look

The analysis infers the mood of the track — energetic, chill, melancholic, uplifting — and the entire color palette follows it. Drop a dark minor-key ballad and a bright summer pop song and you get two different worlds.

Livestreams, listening, learning

Run it behind your stream, project it at a party, or use it to see rhythm — where the downbeats fall, how dense the attacks are, how energy moves across the frequency spectrum.

How to Visualize Music Online

  1. Pick your audio. Upload an MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A or FLAC file, or switch on the microphone to visualize live sound.
  2. Choose a visual mode. Bars, ring, particles, tunnel, LED wall, waveform circle, kaleidoscope, logo, VU meter, starfield, mountains, harmonograph, beat compass, HUD, aurora, planet or fluid ink — switch any time while the music plays.
  3. Watch it lock to the music. Tempo and onsets are detected in your browser: animations breathe with the beat and burst on every note attack, with colors from the detected mood.

Features

Eighteen visual modes

Spectrum bars, a waveform ring, onset-triggered particle storms, shader art, a fly-through tunnel, a DJ LED wall, a waveform circle, a kaleidoscope, a logo mode that pulses your own image, retro VU meters, a warp starfield, waveform mountains, a generative harmonograph, a beat compass, a sci-fi HUD, a flowing aurora, a pulsing planet and flowing ink.

Beat and onset sync

Rhythm tracking finds the tempo and every beat; onset detection finds every note attack. Analysis runs in a background worker so playback never stutters.

Mood-driven palette

Tempo, danceability, energy, brightness, key mode and onset density are combined into a mood estimate that colors every mode.

Files or microphone

Upload a song for the full analyzed experience, or go live with the mic — real-time kick detection keeps the visuals moving.

Professional analysis

Powered by Essentia, the open-source audio analysis library from the Music Technology Group, compiled to WebAssembly.

Private by design

Decoding, analysis and rendering all happen on your device. No upload, no account, no watermark.

What People Say About Our Music Visualizer

★★★★★
"I run a small livestream and needed a reactive background. The onset-triggered particle bursts actually land on the drum hits, which is more than most visualizers manage — and it reads the file right in the browser."
— Leo M., livestreamer
★★★★★
"The mood palette is the clever bit — drop a track and the whole color scheme shifts to match the feeling of the song. My students love watching the ring mode breathe with the beat."
— Sofia K., music teacher
★★★★
"Switched to it for visualizing my demos before uploading. Bars for checking the mix, particles for the fun of it. Wish it could record the canvas to video, but as a free in-browser tool it is excellent."
— Andre P., producer

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the visualizer sync to the beat?

When you upload a song, the Essentia audio analysis library (compiled to WebAssembly, running in a background worker) extracts the tempo and the exact times of every beat and note attack. The animation then fires exactly at those timestamps as the song plays.

What is onset detection?

An onset is the attack of a note — a drum hit, a plucked string, a piano strike. The visualizer detects each one and uses it to trigger particle bursts and subtle screen shake, so the visuals land on the music, not just near it.

How does the mood detection work?

The tool measures tempo, danceability, loudness, spectral brightness, key mode and onset density, and maps them to a mood such as Energetic, Chill or Melancholic. It is an honest estimate, not a machine-learning verdict, and it drives the color palette of the visuals.

Can I use my microphone?

Yes. Microphone mode runs entirely live with real-time kick detection driving the visuals. Uploaded files additionally get the full beat, onset and mood analysis.

Is my music uploaded anywhere?

No. Decoding, analysis and rendering all happen on your device in your browser.

Which audio formats work?

Any format your browser can decode: MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A/AAC and FLAC in most modern browsers.
